At Acute Translations, all our language professionals are accomplished linguists, and not only possess an excellent command of two or more languages and of the specific terminology of the sectors in which they specialize, but are also highly experienced in the vast array of skills required to provide expert translation services.
DIN EN 15038, the European Translation Industry Quality Standard
Translation companies within Europe have long sought to establish a way to prove the quality of their services. Many went with ISO 9001, and in fact most companies using this standard offer a high quality of service; however, mere ISO 9001 certification is not an adequate guarantee of translation quality. Then, in 2006, the European Committee for Standardization published the DIN EN 15038, which is a quality standard designed specifically for translation services. This standard is gaining acceptance world-wide and the European Union has begun to include it as a benchmark for their tender specifications. For these reasons, at Acute Translations we adhere to and promote the European Standard DIN EN 15038.
Under the European Standard DIN EN 15038, translation providers must conform to specific requirements in the following fields:
- personnel and technical resources
- quality and project management
- contractual conditions and the client/service provider relationship
- work processes, and,
- when applicable, additional services offered
